A Walk Down Memory Lane
Dance your cares away, worry’s for another day!
Yesterday me and my friends were basically in hysterics while reminiscing about our favorite children’s shows and trying to rememeber everything about them. When I was little I used to LOVE Fraggle Rock. Like LOVE so much that I thought that I was a member of the Fraggle Crew with Boomer and all.
When the show would come on, I would get so excited that I would line up all of my stuffed Fraggles, and the plastic toys from McDonald’s (funny how that corporation made it into my childhood memory) on the couch like they were going to watch the show with me and I would dance around while singing the Fraggle Rock song…
What was YOUR favorite childhood television show? Was it Today’s Special? Or was it The Polka Dot Door? Do you have any crazy stories about how you acted? I don’t pose this because I want an answer, but I think its so much fun to look back at the media you experienced when you were a child and see how you really believed that you were a part of the production… I bet you’ll have a good time.
For your viewing pleasure, the Fraggle Rock intro…
Down at Fraggle Rock *CLAP CLAP*
One of my favourite shows had to be “Count Duc(k)ula”. I found the mad cap british humour to my liking when I was a child, but my memories of the show are a bit hazy.
As a child I also watched unnatural amounts of Degrassi Jr. High.
Posted 4 years, 12 months agoWow, My friends and I have done this as well. Sitting around drinking, discussing child hood shows…Well I know when I was little I had Rainbow Brite everything…dolls blankets you name it…Then I can remember a show that outta everyone I have asked only like 2 ppl remember it and that is Sharky and George…I LOVED THAT SHOW! Yet I cannot find anyone who has heard of it…other classics I think include Darkwing Duck, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Bonkers, oh there are so many I can’t even think of them all…I would have to say now though that my favorite Saturday morning cartoon would be Loonatics..too bad WB switched it from 8 to 6…now I can’t see it…but its definately on at noon on Saturdays on Teletoon…:) How special am I. Thanx for the walk down memory lane. See you Wednesday. Great Post!!!
Posted 4 years, 11 months agoI’m am SO STOKED you put a fraggle rock video on your blog, holy man did I ever love that show.. now here’s where i’ll tell a pointless story…. so my apolagies in advance.
Posted 4 years, 11 months agoThe reason i came to LOVE fraggle rock (which i think is somewhat interesting) is because it was the only show I could watch in english for a month! I moved to Canada from Cyprus way back in gr3 and went to visit my Norwegian family on the way to Canada for a month with my mom, sister, and brother. The norwegian cable is pretty basic and at 6o clock every evening they have something called “Barne TV” which translates to KIDS TV, and the only show in english happened to be Fraggle Rock – lucky break for me because it’s friggin awesome. Fell in love, and had forgotten about it until now, WICKED POST. thanks for bringin back the memory.
I loved this Blog, I’m laughing right now…wow what a trip back in time that was. I also watched the show but because I am a bit older than most people in the class I will say that I watched it to appease my little brothers (who am I kidding, I loved that show). I am going to sound really old for saying this but here goes…I used to literally run home from grade school so I would not miss a minute of The Brady Bunch, I had the biggest crush on Bobby Brady..oh yeah he was hot! Your blog brought back a memory for me in which I was in my room crying like my heart was breaking in half one day after watching The Brady Bunch and I remember my Mom coming in and asking what was wrong and I told her that Bobby Brady kissed a girl(on the show), I was so into the show that I thought I could be with Bobby…I shit you not, it’s true…wow no wonder I don’t have TV now, it’s too heartbreaking for me.
